Specialist for Kickboxing, Primary group Exercise, Indoor Cycling, Group Resistance Training, Kickboxing Choreography and Mechanics of Injury Prevention Certifications

Michael Lewis, ACSM- HFI, NASM- CPT, NSCA-CPT, ACE-CPT, AFAA, ISSA -CKB, NFPT-CPT, JGSC(Spin), AAHFP, Chek Institute Certified Instructor. Certified Instructor and Personal Trainer (over 25 years). He is also an AFAA Certification Specialist for Kickboxing, Primary Certification, Indoor Cycling, and Resistance Training Certifications. Being a Certification Specialist, michael must stay abreast of all changes in the industry because he is giving the exam that participants are taking to become future trainers and instructors.

While performing his duties as a trainer and instructor, he also sets aside time to teach and train on all subjects related to health and fitness. Being certified by ACSM, NSCA, NASM , AFAA, ACE and others, he imparts his knowledge with the latest and most up to date information available. He constantly reads, attends lectures and seminars to stay current with his knowledge. Being a Presenter and Specialist for AFAA and a Master Instructor for Resistaball Certifications, Michael is well aware of how to present a workshop, lecture or just give an individual training session that will allow one or many participants the ability to obtain the knowledge necessary to pass any certification.

Michael has participated in a variety of Health, Fitness and Aerobic programs and shows. As a Former Marine Corps Fitness Instructor, with numerous physical fitness awards, he has also successfully completed seven 26 mile Marathons, with his best time of 2 hours, 30 minutes. As an athlete he understands the discipline it takes to reach a particular level of fitness, as well as how to impart that discipline to others so they may achieve their goals. He currently teaches a variety of classes, including but not limited to Weights, Step, Aerobics (high and low), Stretch, Calisthenics, KickBoxing and Spinning. As an AFAA Certification Specialist he represents the highest standards of physical fitness and health by his attitude, commitment and dedication to health and fitness. His classes and personal training sessions are designed with effectiveness and safety as the first considerations, followed by fun and excitement. As a Specialist he is keenly aware of spotting the dangers of exercises that might be contraindicated or high risk. Imparting knowledge to others is a love and undertaking Michael pursues continuously. Teaching others about their bodies, as well as how to teach, IS what he considers fundamental to fitness and well being. He has trained numerous clients for the Personal Training, Aerobic, Step, and Kickboxing Certifications.

Michael is a Trainer’s Trainer, he takes pride in helping people working out that have only a basic knowledge and also helping trainers advance their knowledge to the next level. In addition to being a teacher and consultant, Michael is the quintessential performer. He has appeared at ECA Fitness Shows, Fitness Factory Shows, City of Hope, Muscular Dystrophy, numerous Health and Fitness Expos and has given many Master Classes. He was the Long Island National Aerobic champion from 1987-1989.
